Position: Associate Director, Individual Giving
Department: Advancement & Innovation
Role Overview: Reporting to the Senior Director, Individual Giving, the Associate Director will be responsible for managing a portfolio of prospects and donors, and developing strategies to secure contributions to support Lincoln Center's mission and goals. This role involves identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors capable of making 5+ figure gifts. The Associate Director will work closely with colleagues throughout the organization and other external stakeholders to achieve fundraising targets.
The ideal candidate should have a proven record of securing high-level gifts and stewardship of fundraising relationships. They will be self-motivated, self-sufficient, and driven to lead and collaborate with others to achieve success. We are looking for a dynamic colleague who brings strategic, proactive, and forward-thinking to the team. The ideal candidate is persuasive, outgoing, and confident with exceptional communication skills.

What you'll get to do here:
Donor Cultivation and Solicitation
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gift prospects at the $25,000+ level
- Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, maintaining regular contact and building strong, lasting relationships.
- Prepare and present detailed proposals to potential donors, outlining the organization's needs and the impact of their contributions.
Donor Stewardship
- Develop and implement comprehensive stewardship plans for portfolio to ensure ongoing engagement with Lincoln Center and its programs.
- Liase with the Associate, Donor Advancement to recognize and acknowledge donors appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of donor interactions and contributions in the organization's database.
Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with the Senior Director, Individual Giving to create and execute a comprehensive giving strategy.
- Set annual and long-term fundraising goals and develop plans to achieve these targets.
- Analyze and report on progress toward gift goals, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure success.
Department Collaboration
- Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders to identify gift prospects and develop engagement strategies.
- Partner with Individual Giving team members to create compelling materials and messages that support giving initiatives.
- Represent the organization at fundraising events, meetings, and other activities to build awareness and support for Individual Giving efforts.
You'll Be a Great Fit If You Bring:
- 8+ years of experience in front-line fundraising (4+ years of leadership or management experience), with a proven track record of securing significant contributions, preferably in a cultural or performing arts organization with a knowledge of the New York philanthropic community.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Entrepreneurial and results-oriented with a strong ability to set priorities and work towards outcomes in an organized, strategic manner.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, research resources, and donor management and CRM platforms (Tessitura, or similar)
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for the arts and mission of Lincoln Center
