TL;DR Kharon is seeking a full-time, Washington D.C.-based IT Systems Support Specialist. This is an onsite position and requires you to be in office 5 days per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for the Washington DC office and remote support for team members across different locations, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Manage hardware and software inventory, coordinating repairs and replacements with vendors to ensure accurate tracking and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager on the implementation and rollout of new technical tools, software, and processes, including the deployment and configuration of new systems.
  • Assist in identifying, investigating, and remediating system alerts, security incidents, and vulnerabilities, and support the implementation of security protocols to protect company data.
  • Participate in office infrastructure projects, including the build-out and maintenance of conferencing equipment and other technology, ensuring all systems function optimally.
  • Conduct system and user audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and assist in preparing reports and documentation for audits.
  • Create and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and new technologies, providing training and support materials to facilitate the adoption of new systems.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and technical support, acting as a point of contact for technical inquiries and escalating complex issues as necessary.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT support or analyst roles, with expertise in both on-site and remote support.
  • Proficiency in macOS and Windows operating systems, with experience in network setup and maintenance (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, including experience with firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management tools, enterprise software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace), and collaboration tools.
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g. JAMF, Microsoft Auto Pilot)
  • Knowledge of remote desktop tools and support ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Jira), as well as conferencing equipment and software (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) are preferred but not required.

Reporting to our VP of Information Security, this role will be pivotal in providing essential on-site and remote support from our Washington DC office. In this role, you will manage hardware and software inventory, coordinate repairs, and work closely with our IT Manager on implementing new technical tools and processes to best support our growing team member base, both domestically and abroad. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the remediation of system alerts and security incidents, as well as contributing to the build-out of new office spaces and conferencing equipment. The ideal candidate will bring strong "customer service" skills, ensuring all Kharon staff receive exceptional support. You'll also conduct system and user audits to maintain compliance, craft clear documentation for processes and new technologies, and foster a secure, efficient working environment.

The base salary range at Kharon is set between $90,000 and $110,000. Please note that this figure does not necessarily include potential bonuses, commissions, benefits, or equity that may be part of the overall compensation package.
