Position Overview: To perform a technical and cost analysis of all purchase order contract requirements to assure that the Bradken business unit provides product(s) meeting those requirements through all phases of manufacture at the Tacoma Foundry.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and determine all applicable contract technical requirements of each purchase order
- Transfer the PO contract technical requirements to the site manufacturing system
- Identify and communicate any customer purchase order requirements that may be in error, need clarification, or cannot be met; request clarification, revision or concession from the customer
- Identify and communicate elements of risk outside of the Business unit's normal manufacturing processes
- Determine the applicable manufacturing procedures required to meet the customer purchase order requirements and submit those requiring customer prior approval
- Monitor requests to the customer for additional information or required prior approvals to avoid manufacturing delays
- Maintain records as required to support the Quality System
- Participate in customer, ISO, Military, and ASME audits and liaison with customers regarding specification analysis and interpretation.
- Perform and report cost impact analysis to the Account Manager and executive management for requested cost vacancies.
- Perform quality audits of Contract Services documentation generated on a quarterly basis and make recommendations as to changes in processes, internal Tacoma Foundry engagement strategies, workforce training and policies.
- Review customer Purchase Orders to ensure Bradken can comply with all terms and conditions, that the business deal is fair to Bradken and that workforce is trained to a minimum level of understanding on DOD contracts
- Provides guidance, recommendations, interpretation, and analysis to the organization related to DOD contracts.
- Run the contract file audit program.
- Act as the Bradken focal point for the Navy's Supplier Development Fund Program, coordinating all requests, submittals and perform contract administration functions for any approved and funded projects. On a periodic basis, provide reports, analysis and advise on return on investment and future projects.
- Participate in weekly status meetings with Production Control and Project Management to account for order review lead times
- Provide communication to key parties (Legal, Sales, Project Management, Operations) when needed customer actions are not being fulfilled, resulting in schedule delays
- Planning and scheduling of Internal Assessments and Audits of work to detect gaps, weaknesses and procedural compliance
- Delegate tasks and set deadlines for the Team based on workload and priorities
Required:
- Minimum two years' experience in technical specification review and analysis
- Minimum two years' experience in industrial manufacturing
- Familiarity with ISO, military, ASME and/or ASTM standards
- Minimum three years' experience in engineering drawing and blue print reading and interpretation
- Minimum three years' experience in foundry industry (steel casting specifically)
- Previous quality control or similar experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Four-year degree in Material Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably foundry) required
- Ability to self-start and stay on task with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and good deductive reasoning
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of competence with the Microsoft Office programs, with strong keyboarding skills
- Previous experience with manufacturing software systems/ERP systems (Synchro preferred)
