NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

This state-of-the-art facility will be the first of its kind in Canada and is being built with the goal of becoming the foremost battery hub in North America. The Integration Equipment Engineering team will be a part of the initial installation of all equipment. This role will ensure the success in the launch the battery plant.

This person will be responsible for:
  • Consulting with production engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
  • Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements
  • Provide technical assistance in installation and maintenance of company equipment. Perform equipment upgrades as per customer requirements
  • Maintain documentations for equipment installation, maintenance procedures for reference purposes
  • Communicate with vendors to solve complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives to provide support
  • Maintain communication between department co-workers and manage production flow from one process to the next
  • Prepare and participate daily/weekly/monthly meetings with other teams
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in any engineering major is preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, etc.)
  • MS Office tool-based report writing and oral communication skills
  • Advanced Skill of computational draft program [Ex. Auto CAD, Solid works]
  • Ability to work well with individuals and teams across the company to achieve team goals and targets
  • Computational Skill, Troubleshooting, Problem-solving, Statistical knowledge
  • A team player who can multitask and thrive in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing and able to travel and train abroad for up to 6-12 months upon hiring
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs

Preferred:
  • Master's degree in engineering or science preferred
  • Siemens PLC experience preferred
  • 3+ years manufacturing industrial experiences (Especially, lithium-ion batteries industry)
