Intermediate Data Base Administrator

A government agency located in Montgomery, AL is looking for a Intermediate Data Base Administrator for a long-term contract role with the possibility of extension.

Pay Rate Range: $58.00 - $60.00/hr (dependent on experience)
Work Mode: 100% onsite in Montgomery, Alabama (No remote work)

Responsibilities:

• Administer SQL Server environments (2012-2019) on HP servers running Windows Server (2012-2019).
• Modernize legacy SQL code and develop new solutions.
• Manage physical data storage, access, security, backup, and recovery.
• Optimize database performance and resource allocation.
• Attend project meetings and collaborate with project teams.

Required Skills:

• Experience with SQL Server installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in SQL scripting, including DML, DQL, DDL, DCL, and SSIS.
• Strong data modeling skills (Logical, Physical, Relational, ER Diagrams).
• Knowledge of data management concepts and JSON.
• Familiarity with NIST and Microsoft Trust Center security standards.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Services, SQL Data Tools, SQL Reporting Services, and AWS.
• Superior communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Redgate SQL Monitor, Advanced Query Tool (AQT), and Quest Toad for DB2.
• Knowledge of DB2 (LUW, z/OS) and Oracle systems.

Required Experience:

• 5-10 years in database management, including at least 5 years as a lead SQL Server DBA.
• Relevant experience in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration across multiple platforms.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
