Voice Platforms Engineer
Role Profile
As a key member of the Global Infrastructure Engineering Team you will be responsible for advancing the capabilities and uses of voice platforms across the organization.
This could be through the conversion of strategies into roadmaps and implementation plans, creating low level engineering designs or by providing subject matter expert (SME) level support to projects and operations teams.
The role will suit an individual who enjoys working collaboratively with Engineers and Architects to create holistic solutions incorporating a wide range of systems and technologies, and who is able to bring creativity to the solutioning process.
You will work closely with other Engineers who have specialized skills while cross-training within ADM's core technologies. Both they and you, will be constantly learning from each other.

Role Responsibilities
- Analyse, understand, and document existing voice solutions, incorporating stakeholder requirements of the new platform.
- In collaboration with internal teams and external vendors, design and implement the new Cisco WebEx/Microsoft Teams Enterprise Voice platform at identified sites.
- Develop voice technology roadmaps, defining a path to continuously evolve voice platforms, adding new capabilities and services, and ensuring industry technology advancements are introduced (when appropriate)
- Create build instructions for engineering designs, and support operations teams during implementation.
- Undertake requirements analysis of incoming requests ensuring deliverables are clearly understood and agreed with stakeholders.
- Proactively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes and propose improvement activities.
- Incorporate security-by-design into all solutions, ensuring that security requirements are considered concurrently with technical requirements.
- Work closely with TO tower leads as an escalation point, providing SME support to operations teams, assisting with P1/P2 incident resolution.
- Liaise with 3rd party vendors when appropriate to create engineering solutions and continuous improvement proposals.
- Collaborate with Architects to propose, review and implement new standards and technologies.
Role Requirements
Essential
- Extensive working knowledge of a range of Enterprise Voice technologies and UCC platforms including,
- Cisco UCC (Advantageous: CCNP Collaboration or CCIE Collaboration)
- Microsoft Teams Enterprise Voice (Advantageous: Microsoft 365 Certified: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate or Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Voice Engineer Expert)
- Nortel, Avaya & Mitel systems
- Analog devices, wall fields/boards, ATA's, PSTN, ISDN
- Cloud/Hosted PBX Solutions
- Good understanding of Session Border Controllers and SIP Trunking configurations and best practice
- Understanding of telephony design and call routing / control protocols such as SIP, RTP, G.711, T.38, T1 / PRI, FXO / FXS, CAS POTS, and Caller ID
- Good working knowledge of network communications including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing and switching, firewalls, LAN, VLAN, WAN. In particular, an expert level knowledge of QoS management and the prioritisation of UDP/SIP traffic.
- Experience of working at a global scale and an understanding of regional differences in communications technologies and standards.
- Able to troubleshoot SIP interoperability issues between the VOIP services using tools such as Wireshark.
- Ability to understand key concepts and communicate clearly and concisely, including technical details and processes.
- Capable of creating technology roadmaps based on strategy inputs.
- Ability to carry out requirements analysis and create requirements documentation and drawings using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience in providing analytics expertise to Operations teams in support of problem resolution.
- Experience of developing, maintaining, and updating general and controlled documentation systems.
