- Position Summary
- In collaboration with the Director of Food and Nutrition Services, the Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of activities of the department. Coordinates, facilitates, and assesses and monitors all aspects of food and nutrition services. Responsible for developing and ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state and federal guidelines as well as professional standards of nutrition practice as defined by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Functions within the scope of dietetics practice outlined by the Georgia Board of Licensed Dietitians. Maintains open communications and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation.
- Education
- Bachelors in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics - Required
- Experience
- 5-7 Years Clinical nutrition and/or foodservice management - Preferred
- License & Certification
- Professional License with State of Practice - Required
- Certification for Registered Dietitian (RD) - Required
- Core Job Functions
- Represents nutrition services on system committees to ensure all patient nutrition care standards are met. Collaborates with medical staff, nursing, IT and other areas to develop and implement changes to maintain best practice. Recruits and supervises clinical dietitians, monitoring and documenting performance appraisals and competencies.
- Ensures food and nutrition services is provided in a safe and efficient and fiscally responsible manner. Monitors to ensure service and performance is compliant with all standards of practice and system policies and procedures, reporting to director and administration as scheduled.
- Develops, reviews and monitors departmental policies and procedures consistent with system. Monitors for compliance with regulatory and SJ/C standards. Develops and approves patient menus for nutritional adequacy.
- Maintains expenses within budget. Maintains resources needed to do the job available. Oversees and manages productivity of the front lines co-workers.
- Education plans and resources are developed for staff and patients incorporating needs assessments. Orientation plans and documentation are reviewed and revised periodically. Annual competency and regulatory requirements are met and documentation is maintained.
