Description:
This position is responsible for determining, implementing, establishing and maintaining Quality Assurances and Controls for the Autoskins Manufacturing Process.
Overall Purpose of the Role
The Quality Engineer develops, implements, documents and monitors needed Quality Systems and Controls for the manufacturing process. The Quality Engineer evaluates the production process, analyzes potential failure modes and implements process controls to eliminate or reduce the occurrence of actual or potential non-conformance. The Quality Engineer implements required controls, develops related work instructions and trains all appropriate personnel as necessary to ensure understanding of requirements related to process/product conformance. The Quality Engineer is knowledgeable of TS-16949 Quality Management Systems, IATF and AIAG requirements. The Quality Engineer assists in the development of systems conforming to customer, QMS, statutory and regulatory requirements. The Quality Engineer works with production, technical and laboratory staff to ensure customer satisfaction and conformance of product and process to internal and external requirements.

General and Task Management
- Advanced knowledge of the Production Process
- Develops, implements, manages and verifies process and product audit requirements.
- Develops Quality work instructions to ensure product/process conformance to requirements.
- Manages customer and supplier PPAP submissions to ensure conformance.
- Establishes data collection methodology to ensure consistency and validity of process/product characteristics, trends and capabilities.
- Conduct advanced data analysis relevant to making decisions for the acceptance of product and process improvement
- Provide technical support to Lab, Technical or Production Teams when needed for corrective action activities
- Trains Autoskin Staff on the requirements of TS-16949 and take action to correct nonconformance
- Leads internal and external audits as deemed appropriate by the Quality Manager.
- Supports the Lab, Quality and Production teams by participating in and sharing relevant data during production meetings
- Leads Customer Investigations, follow-up and corrective action activities.
- Ensures conformance of calibrated process/product acceptance equipment with applicable requirements.
- Coordinates APQP and PPAP processes as needed for new or transferred production.
- Manages the Document Control System.
- Oversees the installation, validation and verification of new or modified production equipment.
- Undertake special projects as required
- Leads continuous improvement activities
- Write reports and provide information to management
Requirements
Skills and Attributes
- Advanced computer skills.
- Advanced verbal communication skills, including group presentation.
- Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PPAP, APQP, MSA.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control, ANOVA, Process Capability, Regression Analysis, Correlation, and Measurement System Analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of process and procedure development and documentation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Ability to prepare complex written reports and other documents.
- Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions
Qualifications and Experience Levels
- Bachelor's Degree from a recognized, accredited college or university is required.
- Technical Degree (Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Quality Assurance, or similar) - no experience required for consideration
- Korean-English bilingual required
- Non-Technical Degree (Business, Liberal Arts, Education, or similar) - will be considered with applicable work experience as an Automotive Quality Engineer.
- Work experience in a TS-16949 Certified QMS is strongly desired.
- Experience in the implementation of a TS-16949 Quality Management System is strongly desired.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer credentials strongly desired.
