Status: Full-time position

Location: Remote-based position within Canada

Mandatory Requirement: Professional-level French-English bilingualism is required for this role. This position supports a contract with the Government of Canada and requires Reliability Status Clearance for Protected B level data.

We are seeking a Training Team Manager (Bilingual) to support the delivery of Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program (RSVP), on behalf of Veterans Affairs Canada. Lifemark Health Group and WCG Services have joined to form Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS). This team makes a difference in the lives of Canada's Veterans and their families by providing medical, psychosocial, and vocational rehabilitation services.

Role Summary:

The Rehabilitation Service Specialist Training Team Manager is responsible for training the Rehabilitation Service Specialists (RSS) to ensure timely, high quality and Participant-centered services are provided within service standards

This role provides mentoring and support to newly onboarded RSS and RSSs requiring mentorship and support to achieve credentialing requirements. The RSS TTM provides group and one on one training to ensure consistency and standardization of training across all regions. As the subject matter expert for RSS Training, the RSS TTM will partner with the Learning & Development Team in the enhancement and roll out of RSS Training needs across the program. The RSS TTM is responsible for carrying a small caseload of participant files.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management
  • Establish and maintain a robust and standardized training schedule for new RSSs entering the program
  • Provide management support to RSSs during the initial onboarding and training period
  • Review and approve all Rehabilitation Plans and Closure Reports being submitted to funder for completeness, accuracy, and alignment to program objectives
  • Regularly audit Participant files for quality assurance purposes, ensuring services are provided within the scope of the contract and meet quality standards and documentation is accurate and thorough
  • In partnerships with the RSS Regional Manager and Performance & Quality Management team, track and analyze team performance against contract Service Standards, Participant outcomes and Participant experiences using scheduled and ad-hoc reports, and develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps
  • Support RSS Leadership to implement change management processes related to changes in process impacting service delivery

Leadership & People Management
  • Support RSSs to ensure timely, high quality and Participant-centered services are provided within service standards
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, and training of new staff as appropriate
  • Provide daily mentorship and coaching to new RSSs to promote quality and consistency in care
  • Conduct weekly team meetings to review complex files and files at risk for suboptimal outcome
  • Meet with RSS regularly, both individually and in a team, to develop strategies for continuous improvement within the program
  • Provide written feedback to RSS and RSS TM on RSS learning of training materials and any gaps in knowledge that need to be addressed.
  • Pro-actively address performance gaps using Performance Management framework
  • Disseminate corporate and/or program information including updates to policies, procedures, and guidelines to team members

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
  • Work collaboratively with RSS Leadership and other PCVRS departments to share feedback on RSS training needs and provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Represent RSS team in Learning and Development team meetings, and act as a Subject Matter Expert for content creation as appropriate

Case Management
  • Conduct direct service work which may include Initial Intake Interviews, development of Rehabilitation Plans, implementation/monitoring of Rehabilitation Plans, and completing some vocational services as appropriate


Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (French/English)
  • High level of written and spoken proficiency in French is required
  • Excellent relationship building, communication, problem solving and analytical skills, ability to resolve complex issues or problems surfaced by partners and/or the internal team
  • Minimum one years' experience leading and supervising people
  • A current health professional designation (i.e. Social Work, Kinesiology, Occupational Therapy), Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP), or a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Services Professional - Fellow (CVRP - F)
  • Minimum of five years' experience in the direct provision of medical, psycho-social or vocational rehabilitation services (or a combination thereof) including the following:
  • Minimum two years' experience in disability management and/or case management of rehabilitation services including:
  • Employment conditional on obtaining federal Reliability Status security clearance
