JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Information Systems, Software Development and Support is responsible for overseeing the software development, integration of third-party software and overall support of software. Works with the I.T. Project Managers to coordinate the use of development resources. The position is responsible for the overall project management process for I.T. projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee Project Managers and Project Management processes
  • Work with PM's and Business units to determine software needs and evaluate solutions that are compatible with the company technology architecture
  • Work with PM's and business areas to determine project priorities
  • Ensure consistent communications on project status
  • Works closely with various PM's and Product Managers on creation of SOW's to ensure delivery of the product with agreed up features and by the agreed upon target dates.
  • May have PM responsibility for working with a particular business area.
  • Oversee establishment of development methods and practices including:
  • Development stack
  • Testing processes
  • Change Management Processes
  • Application security, database security and access controls
  • Has oversight responsibilities for Database team
  • Provide coaching, feedback, developmental opportunities, to direct/indirect reports within broader team
  • Appraises and evaluates department and individual performance and makes compensation recommendations
  • Maintains job descriptions for development and project management roles to keep them current with needed skills.
  • Other duties as assigned


POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • BS degree in Computer Systems or related area and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding and ability to guide software development processes and development tools.
  • Working experience with project management concepts and processes.
  • Conceptual knowledge of development tools and system architecture.
  • Proven ability to lead others.
  • Excellent people, oral communications and written communications skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.


PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS
  • Primary work is performed in an office environment with prolonged sitting at desk and exposure to indoor lighting and computer screen.
