Job Summary
The Operational Manager manages all operations and functions of the Rector Clinical Skills Center which includes personnel management, evaluation of the Center's needs in areas of staffing, training, and physical resources. The Operational Manager also works with the Director of Operations in preparing the operating budget which includes human simulation expenses incurred by SKMC, JCN, JCHP, JCP and PAST. The Operational Manager supervises and leads the team of 4 FT Standardized Patient Educators (SP Educators); overseeing the development and execution of programs in multiple health disciplines and manages the operations of the standardized patient program. The Operational Manager is responsible for the recruitment of certain Rector Clinical Skills Center staff.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree required
AND
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years administrative/office management experience. Background in academic setting and assessment using standardized patients and simulation. Excellent organizational skills, ability to problem solve, use Microsoft Office and other vendor software packages. Excellent communication skills. Experience with preparation of departmental budgets.
Previous experience in training standardized patients in an established program at the professional school level.
Demonstrated ability to interact with faculty and students, excellent organizational, human relations, and communications skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment under time pressure, computer skills a must.
Ability to quickly gain efficiency in software applications specific to the job.

Essential Functions
- Transitions formative and summative programs to an online format; facilitating orientation of Standardized Patient Educators and Standardized Patients (SPs) to online platforms.
- Evaluates programs conducted live and via online platforms for alignment with best practice.
- Develops training modules for Program Assistants, supervising Program Assistants' training and exam related duties.
- Developes new material and maintane the Rector Clinical Skills and Simulation website.
- Manages the operations of all Rector Clinical Skills Center SP & Hybrid SP programs:
- Sets quality assurance standards and procedures for high stakes examinations overseeing implementation.
- Evaluates data analysis for improvements in training, case development, and
program logistics.
- Collaborates with faculty on case development, developing and aligning training materials with case objectives.
- Implements professional development for SP Educators to advance knowledge and skills in SP methodology.
- Develops professional workshops for SPs focused on scoring communication/interpersonal skills and refining written and verbal feedback.
- Maintains written training protocols; refining protocols to meet shifting program

- Trains SPEs and other staff as needed on the use of learning and exam management systems.
- Maintaining budgets for SP programs.
- Works with the Director of Operations in establishing and administering the Rector Clinical Skills Center budget (salaries, capital equipment, medical supplies, etc.).
- Assisting Director of Operations with management of center, regular full time and part time staff and SPs.
- Assisting Director of Operations with center policy development and execution.
- Manages recruitment/terminations of certain Rector Clinical Skills Center support staff including standardized patients, completes performance appraisals.
- Trains new hires in the operation of standardized patient programs.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.

- Manages policies for and follows safety standards to maintain a safe environment for students and staff; support the use of proper body mechanics and reports potential safety hazards.
- Manages and follows organizational policies and procedures including those associated with (related to) federal, state and regulatory agency requirements or standards to ensure compliance.
- Writes, produces, and directs scripts for training videos.
- Attends seminars, workshops and professional meetings related to job responsibilities including representation on a national level.
- Liaison between center and external vendors.
- Trains and runs various SP and Simulation programming as needed or when short-staffed.
