Senior Machine Learning Engineer

OVERVIEW

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will work as part of a world-class team developing and deploying AI/ML solutions to transform clinical research. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end solutions; from deeply understanding the problem and its characteristics, and research of prior art, to designing, generating, and augmenting a dataset, training, testing, implementing, and embedding it within a production environment.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in technical teams to develop, deploy, and apply artificial intelligence techniques
• Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods
• Work with data engineers on data quality assessment, data cleaning, and data analytics
• Apply machine learning algorithms such as natural language processing, classification, cluster analysis, anomaly detection and multivariate regression
• Research and utilize new technologies
• Develop analytics to address customer needs and opportunities
• Work alongside software engineers and product managers to translate algorithms into commercially viable products and services.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to test the algorithms' functionality
• Provide technical guidance, training, and support to other team members
• Ensure compliance with eClinical Solutions and industry quality standards, regulations, guidelines, and procedures
• Manage multiple timelines and deliverables and managing client communications as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

CANDIDATE'S PROFILE

Education & Experience

• 5+ years of working full-time on ML/NLP tasks preferred
• Master's or PhD degree in STEM preferred
• Experience productizing AI/ML solutions
• Experience in ML Ops/Dev Ops is a required
• Experience working on Pharma-related, or Fraud detection use cases is a plus
• Experience working with SQL Server databases is a plus
• Experience taking an ML solution developed by another team member, productionizing, deploying, and optimizing performance regarding latency, memory and throughput.
• Experience monitoring ML solutions in production and debugging problems that occur.
• Experience building strategies for keeping version control of models and experiments.
• Knowledge of clinical trial data is a plus

• Demonstrated experience with at least three of the following frameworks: Pytorch, Scikit learn, TensorFlow, Keras, CoreNLP, Caffe
• Coding experience in Python and other high-level languages for at least 3 years
• Familiarity with common CS concepts such as Data Structures.
• Familiarity with best practices in Software Engineering.
• Familiarity with common Machine Learning frameworks such as Sagemaker and Scikit learn.
• Familiarity with common Machine Learning MLOps tools such as Databricks, Neptune.ai and Sagemaker Experiments.
• Experience running algorithms on various hardware such as CPU vs. GPU
• Experience with deployment tools such as Docker and scaling frameworks such as Kubernetes.
