The Area CBO Director is responsible for the success of revenue cycle operations in their assigned states/markets/area. The Area CBO Director reviews and enacts policies, procedures and processes to ensure maximum cash flow and protect the integrity of Concentra assets. The Area Director works closely with leaders in the designated markets, as well as across disciplines such as sales, operations, referrals, coding, accounting and reimbursement groups. The Area Director will provide leadership to colleagues and is responsible for analyzing performance against established benchmarks.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and assist Central Business Office Managers and/or Supervisors with the oversight of global issues pertaining to proper billing, deposits, payment posting and collections of center accounts receivable
  • Manage staff to include performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions
  • Evaluate operational, procedural and personnel situations and identify appropriate solutions based on a thorough understanding of business conditions, corporate objectives and policies, strategic customers and the long-term impact of implementation
  • Jointly compile, analyze, and present monthly accounts receivable reports with Central Business Office Manager and/or Supervisors.
  • Schedule regular calls and/or face to face meetings with leaders in designated area
  • Develop and monitor Central Business Office staffing model and staffing levels
  • Maximize the use of available technology in order to improve the cash process
  • Implement policies to verify the integrity and control of the accounts receivable system data efficiencies
  • Plan and coordinate special accounts receivable projects as required
  • Develop direct relationships with payers and employers to promote positive working relationships
  • Actively monitor adherence to the budget and overall expense control
  • Communicate with Central Business Office and local and regional leadership teams on pertinent accounts receivable issues
  • Support each Central Business Office of assigned area
  • Participate in State Workers' Compensation bureau meetings, keeping appropriate leadership team members aware of reimbursement rules and fee schedule initiatives

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in accounting,
    finance or business administration or equivalent education and experience
  • In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of
    work experience and vice versa

Job-Related Experience
  • Customarily has at least ten or more years of experience in finance positions of increasing scope and responsibility
  • Experience customarily includes 10 or more years managing accounts receivable activities
  • Experience in healthcare industry accounts receivable with multi location practice
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems
