ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Industrial Controls and Automation Engineer specializing in AI Infrastructure, you will spearhead the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems and automation solutions that are critical to our AI data centers and computing facilities. Reporting directly to the Head of AI Data Centers, you will be at the heart of ensuring our systems are not just efficient and reliable, but capable of handling the immense demands of advanced AI operations. Key Responsibilities

Control Systems Design and Implementation:

• Design and develop control systems for AI infrastructure, including automated systems for monitoring and controlling environmental conditions, power distribution, and equipment operation.
• Configure and program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and DCS (Distributed Control Systems) to meet the specific requirements of AI facilities.

Automation Solutions:

• Implement automation solutions to enhance the efficiency and reliability of AI infrastructure operations, such as automated cooling systems, power management, and equipment diagnostics.
• Develop and deploy scripts and software for automation, including data collection, system integration, and real-time monitoring.

System Integration and Optimization:

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to integrate control and automation systems with existing infrastructure.
• Analyze and optimize control systems to improve performance, reduce downtime, and enhance overall system reliability.

Testing and Troubleshooting:

• Conduct testing and validation of control systems and automation solutions to ensure they meet design specifications and performance criteria.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and automation equipment, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

Project Management:

• Lead control systems and automation projects from design through implementation, including project planning, resource management, and budget oversight.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system diagrams, operation manuals, and project reports.
• Ensure all control and automation systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in control systems and automation technologies.
• Recommend and implement new technologies and practices to enhance the functionality and efficiency of AI infrastructure.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial controls and automation, with a focus on infrastructure projects such as data centers, high-performance computing facilities, or similar environments.
• Experience with AI infrastructure or high-tech environments is a plus.
• Proficiency in control systems design software and programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, Python, SQL).
• Strong understanding of PLCs, SCADA systems, DCS, and automation technologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
• Innovative mindset with a passion for leveraging automation to optimize infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
