Position: Leasing and Operations Trainer
Location: Naperville, IL, with up to 50% travel (including in and out of state)
At Banner, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture of continual education, personal growth, and adherence to core values. We are looking for a dedicated Leasing and Operations Trainer to join our Operations and Support Team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations and Marketing.
The Leasing and Operations Trainer will be responsible for understanding and teaching asset financial analysis and property management reports. Mastery of all office team member job functions and responsibilities is essential. The Trainer will develop and train on-site individuals and groups across various positions, and provide site management coverage as needed. Leading team training during staffing changes and property acquisitions, the Trainer will cover operation procedures, sales expectations, company policies, resident relations, and system/software training.
Utilizing company equipment responsibly and adhering to operational guidelines is required, as is responding promptly to emergency situations. Efficient time and resource management to meet deadlines, along with professional and effective communication in both verbal and written forms, is crucial. The Trainer must exercise sound judgment and always act in the best interest of the Company.
In the training capacity, the Trainer will conduct large and small scale web conferencing on industry-relevant topics, research, recommend, and launch new industry products and initiatives, and create job aids and learning tools for new hires and ongoing learning. They will maintain and administer the Company's Learning Management System, tracking and managing internal and external education efforts for all employees. Developing pre and post coursework for new hires and those needing additional training is also required.
The Trainer will train office sales employees on proper email and phone response, and educate on property follow-up techniques and tools. Staying current with Multi-Family training techniques and materials, attending external courses or conferences annually for continual education credits, and hosting regular in-person and remote trainings on company systems are essential duties. The Trainer will encourage adherence to Company training initiatives and required certifications, train team members on professionalism and customer service impact on resident retention, and maintain a professional image and positive attitude.

Other Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Enforcing Company dress code and uniform requirements
- Assisting in third round interviews for on-site personnel
- Completing the 30-Day Onboarding Checklist with all new hire Leasing Consultants and commission-eligible Assistant Managers
- Acting as a mentor and positive role model for all team members
Position Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Three years in Property Manager position managing a large or multi-site asset. Previous Support Role, Trainer, or Regional Manager experience in property management preferred.
- Travel: The position will be based in our Naperville office. Both in and out of state travel is required including over-the-weekend stays and occasional back-to-back travel. Up to 50%, based on the need of the company and the properties.
- Physical: Frequent walking, stairs, standing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Valid driver's license and reliable, personal automobile for local job related travel.
- Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and/or Certified Property Manager (CPM) a plus!
