Description: Responsible for managing the Workforce and Economic Development (WED) client operations team to include but not limited to support staff, instructor, and coordinators responsible for delivering WED products and services. The Assistant Director of WED Client Operations will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, implementing organizational policies, and fostering a positive environment for Workforce and Economic Development staff and clients.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage and supervise WED operations staff members, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee scheduling and logistics for full-time instructors, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
  • Address employee concerns and provide coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Contribute, encourage, and support innovative ideas and processes to improve productivity and service to customers; monitor the quality of department services; make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Represent Tulsa Tech in the community and especially in networking meetings with clients and workforce training partners; increase Tulsa Tech exposure in the community and enhance potential enrollment in District programs.
  • Serve as steward for WED assets and funds; prepare and monitor budgets to assure fiscal accountability as well as operating efficiency and asset optimization.
  • Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.

  • Position Requirements:
    • This position requires a minimum of seven years experience working in strategic planning, public relations, or management.
    • Must have at least 3 years in progressive leadership roles leading learning and development in a corporate or contract training organization serving manufacturing, aerospace, or construction industry products and services.
    • Valid State Issued Driver's License
    • Bilingual is a plus


    Education and Specialized Training:
    • Bachelors Degree required.
    • Masters Degree in School Administration and/or Oklahoma school administrator level certification preferred.
    • ODCTE BIS certification or the ability to complete certification with 12 months required.
    • LERN Certified Contract Trainer Preferred.

    Salary Schedule:
    SPMS

    Hiring Range:
    Dependent on experience, plus additional $9,000 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
