Position Purpose

The Associate Superintendent of Accountability & Data Quality is responsible for leading, supervising, and directing district staff functions for Student Assessment including Data Analysis & Reporting for Student Assessment, Program Integration of online assessment & instructional resources, and Strategic Initiative Analytics including the analytics for the Teacher Incentive Allotment and the School Performance Framework. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a Student Assessment to meet state & federal requirements and support student learning and academic growth. Responsible for working in collaboration with the Deputy Superintendents, Chiefs, Associate Superintendents of Learning & Leading, Executive Directors and Directors of Learning & Leading, Technology, Talent Management, and other departments. Responsible for ensuring coherence and continuity of initiatives across FWISD.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and direct district staff functions including Accountability, Student Assessment, Program Integration, and Strategic Initiative Analytics.
  • Participate in and finalize district short and long range goals in areas of possible growth, expansion and new educational opportunities.
  • Direct, through direct reports, the development, implementation, and coordination of policies and programs covering Student Assessment, Assessment Data Analysis & Reporting, Strategic Initiatives Analytics, and Program Integration, which provide critical oversight and support throughout the district to meet the needs of the staff, students, parents, and community.
  • Direct, through direct reports, Professional Learning using Student Assessment & Student Data Analysis to support the implementation of the Student Assessment Plan and meet the needs of participants.
  • Direct the maintenance of records and reports that are necessary for the Superintendent of Schools and other executive staff to keep the Board of Trustees informed of the district's progress and future plans related to student assessment data.
  • Direct the establishment of ongoing operations of the Accountability & Data Quality Division to ensure long term programs to meet the needs of the district, schools and the community.
  • Ensure, in collaboration with Learning & Leading, a process for the selection of high quality TEKSaligned online instructional resources.
  • Disseminate current research on best practices in student assessment and data reporting.
  • Collaborate with staff of Early Learning, Special Populations, and Bilingual/ESL, to coordinate and support the special needs of all student populations.
  • Collaborate on technology integration and assist in planning for all 1:1 initiative resources.
  • Develop and manage local and federal budgets to support and maintain quality District programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Select, train, directly supervise, and evaluate assigned staff, and makes recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
  • Research and stay current with all federal and state rules, policies, and guidelines. Responsible for training and supervision at all levels to maintain district compliance with all areas under supervision.

Travel Requirements
  • Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards
  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
  • Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
  • Environment: Works in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
  • Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
  • Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree from accredited college or university in Education or a directly related field of study
  • Certification/License: Eligible for a Valid Texas Mid-Management and/or Principal Certification. Attainment of certification within six months is a condition of continued employment.
  • Experience: 10 years including the combination of the following minimum experience:
    • 5 years successful teaching experience;
    • 3 years campus, District level administrative, or supervisory experience preferred;
    • Extensive experience in the field of assessment and data analyses;
    • Experience working with technology applications.
