Role Description:
Arcadis seeks a Senior ITS Electrical Design Engineer to join our team to play a pivotal role in the electrical design, development, and implementation of Highway Lighting, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Tolling Infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles as applied to highway lighting, ITS technologies and tolling infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead engineering projects, manage technical teams, and ensure that the designs are cost effective, reliable, and meet all relevant standards.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $146,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.

Role Description:

This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles as applied to highway lighting, ITS technologies and tolling infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead engineering projects, manage technical teams, and ensure that the designs are cost effective, reliable, and meet all relevant standards.
Role Accountabilities:
- Project Leadership:
- Lead electrical engineering design for projects related to tolling systems, ITS, and traffic signal infrastructure.
- Develop project plans and ensure adherence to project timelines and specifications.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to achieve project objectives.
- System Design and Implementation:
- Design, implement, and optimize electrical and electronic systems for ITS systems, Tolling systems and traffic signals.
- Design and optimize highway lighting. Experience with photometric analysis to optimize lighting design.
- Ensure the design meets design specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Electrical/Roadway Lighting Design in support of a variety of projects including roadways, bridges, tunnels, transportation facilities, roadway signs, and electrical infrastructure design.
- Technical Expertise:
- Apply electrical engineering principles to develop solutions for ITS and tolling infrastructure.
- Knowledge on NEMA requirements and GDOT Electrical design requirements for Tolling and ITS systems.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on ITS and Highway Lighting. Demonstrated experience in a senior or leadership role is highly desirable.
- Experience in coordination with utility companies.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Key Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems for ITS technologies and tolling infrastructure.
- Proficiency in MicroStation and ProjectWise.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred.
- Additional certifications related to ITS or traffic engineering are a plus.
