PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The DBA/Analyst plays a crucial role in the design and administration of databases across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake platforms. This position also involves configuring and monitoring automated ETL and BI tools, including Qlik and Looker, to ensure efficient data movement between repositories. In addition, the Database Administrator/Analyst will analyze data and provide valuable insights to support strategic business decisions. Collaboration with developers on query design and optimization is also a key responsibility. This position reports directly to the Infrastructure Manager.

KEY TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards
  • Monitor and document the success or failures of backup solutions
  • Ability to execute database recovery techniques for multiple database platforms for constant readiness
  • Modify the database structure, as necessary, from information provided by and collaboration with application developers
  • Design new databases per SCL and industry standards
  • SQL Server database setup
  • SQL Server monitoring, disk space, and performance optimization
  • SQL Server security provisioning
  • Analyze data to generate insights and support business decision-making
  • Data Interpretation and trend analysis
  • SQL Server schema design and stored procedure development
  • Administration of SQL and Snowflake databases
  • Design and monitor ETL tasks
  • Support and assist with any projects as deemed necessary by the Infrastructure Manager and Chief Technology Officer


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and/or 3-5-years of relevant experience


PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES
  • Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio
  • Proficiency in SQL Server administration, including database setup, optimization, and schema design
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and Snowflake
  • Experience with Qlik and Looker
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across various levels of the company
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Access and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to support multiple tasks, initiatives, and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent prioritization skills to quickly triage and provide direction on varying degrees of complex issues
  • Familiarity with Data Warehouse concepts, architecture and usage


REMOTE WORK

This is not a remote work position. The candidate must reside in the Austin metro region and will work in the Script Care Austin office.
