Job Summary:
The Senior Human Resource Manager leads and directs the functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruitment, hiring, new employee orientation, onboarding, benefit selection, benefit enrollment, compliance with human resources laws and regulations, maintaining and enforcing human resources policies, and administering pay and benefits.
Essential job duties:
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Provides support and guidance to the human resources team, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive issues arise, including providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, hiring, new employee orientation, onboarding; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Administers benefit programs including benefit selection and plan design, managing open enrollment, counseling employees on benefit coverage, maintaining benefits in the payroll and benefits software, overseeing COBRA administration, regulatory compliance, benefits billing reconciliation, and collaborating with finance to manage cost of benefit plans.
- Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent. Manages employee performance review process, ensuring reviews and rewards are administered in a timely, fair, and consistent manner.
- Coordination and administration of payroll and benefit functions. Ensures accurate employee files and training records are maintained. Ensures timely and accurate entries in the payroll and benefits software. Maintains payroll records and benefit programs for salary associates. Responds to employee inquiries about payroll, benefits, and compensation.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Administers unemployment insurance, injury reporting and manages worker's compensation claims.
- Develops, maintains, and communicates human resources policies including employee handbooks, job descriptions and procedures.
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Maintain improvements in processes and utilization of the company's payroll and benefits software programs.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and modern technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Oversees the company's administrative functions and may be required to perform routine tasks necessary to support human resources programs.
- Hire, train, and retain skilled human resources staff.
- Responsible for recording, correcting, and communicating problems with food safety, quality, or issues brought to the attention of the Human Resources department.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of human resources principles, employment laws and data protection regulations.
- Working knowledge of HRIS for payroll, benefits, time and attendance (ADP Workforce Now experience preferred), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable interacting with employees who speak other languages.
- Good organizational skills, problem-solving ability, thorough attention to details, and ability to accurately enter employee data in various systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage sensitive information, and skilled at conflict resolution.
