JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Quality Improvement Consultant reports to the Director of Quality Management and is responsible for working with leadership to develop, implement and monitor clinical and operational systems improvement projects that support the organizations key strategic priorities in order to succeed as a High Reliability Organization. The Quality Improvement Consultant provides expertise in systems analysis and performance optimization, risk reduction and accreditation compliance. The Quality Improvement Consultant utilizes quality management tools and methodology to analyze workflow processes, plan and implement projects, and make recommendations for clinical operational systems improvements. The Quality Improvement consultant works as a change agent to achieve organizationally identified outcomes and enhance system performance through the use of quality management skills.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors of Science with Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred. Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Quality Improvement desirable.
EXPERIENCE
RN in the state of Vermont required. 3-5 years of clinical and leadership experience in a Health Care setting preferred. Demonstrated experience in Project Management, workflow analysis, and management of multifaceted project plans and teams.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Expertise in use of quality improvement methods and applications. Expertise in clinical and operational systems analysis. Knowledge of standards based practices and Regulatory Readiness. Knowledge of key software applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Project Manager). Ability to successfully interact with Leadership at all levels throughout the organization. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability for positive persuasion required. Ability to analyze complex systems, identifies opportunities for improvement and assist multi-disciplinary, cross-organizational teams achieve desired outcomes. Ability to successfully manage unpredictable and rapidly changing work environments. Project Planning and Management skills. Facilitation skills with complex, multi-disciplinary teams, with the potential need for conflict management /resolution. Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to leadership in improving organizational performance. Ability to coach and advise leadership to foster a quality culture. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong software use capabilities.
