POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Assistant Director of Clinical Training and Applied Research
Program: Capitol Region Education Council, River Street Schools and Programs

Position Description: Under the direct supervision of the Director (or designee), the Assistant Director of Clinical Training and Applied Research will have the direct responsibility of overseeing the professional development and clinical training of predoctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows and similar graduate trainees. This position will oversee the implementation of clinical training for students (e.g., as part of practicum and internship placements, APA-accredited internships, and APPIC psychology fellowships) through the development and maintenance of training and monitoring systems to ensure the delivery, integration, and fidelity of evidence-based learning opportunities consistent with regulatory standards. Lastly, this position is integral to fostering a culture of scientific inquiry, including the design, completion and dissemination of applied research studies conducted within RSS schools and programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with leadership, clinical and educational personnel, assists in identifying and directing professional development and training support needs, including assisting in establishing training systems and protocols as well as maintaining training data collection systems.
• In collaboration with leadership, clinical and educational personnel, assists in ensuring that evidence-based practices, including those founded within an Applied Behavior Analytic model, are implemented within all affiliated schools and programs.
• In collaboration with leadership, clinical and educational personnel, assists in the development of practices and systems to monitor and ensure procedural fidelity relative to the implementation of evidence-based practice for students with ASD.
• Coordinates clinical training programming (for interns, practicum students, pre-doctoral interns) within training settings as well as with the supervisors of staff involved in the training programs.
• Manages regional/national recruitment and selection of interns, practicum students, pre- doctoral interns, post-doc fellows, etc.
• Solicits feedback from rotation supervisors to provide evaluations of practicum students to the trainees' academic programs (most occurring yearly).
• Develops program self-studies and coordinating site visits as needed to maintain state, regional, and/or national accreditation.
• Maintains a comprehensive semester evaluation system, consistent with APA guidelines.
• Develops and fosters a culture of scientific inquiry within RSS schools and programs, including overseeing the development, completion, and/or dissemination of applied research projects conducted by educators and practitioners in collaboration with RSS leadership.

Qualifications:

• Experience in working with students with a wide range of behavioral, emotional, social, intellectual, and neurodevelopmental challenges.
• Completion of an APA accredited internship in psychology.
• Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, School Psychology or related field.
• Licensed psychologist in CT (or license eligible)
• Applicants with a school psychology degree would need to obtain the CT State Board of Education endorsement in School Psychology (070)
• BCBA/BCBA-D (or eligibility) strongly preferred.
• Current CT Department of Public Health licensure as a Behavior Analyst (or eligibility) strongly preferred.
• Five or more years of experience working with students with ASD in schools and/or other applied settings.
• Superb communication skills (written/verbal) and a collaborative interpersonal style
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in Safety Care Crisis Prevention Training.
• Demonstrated expertise in providing culturally competent, evidence-based clinical services to children, adolescents, and families.
• Documented track record of scholarship, as evidenced by extramural grant funding, peer-reviewed publications, and/or conference presentations.
