Job Description/Summary
The Program Director (PD) position for graduate nursing education programs will be filled with individuals academically, clinically, and experientially qualified for the role. The PD is a full-time faculty member of the Department of Nursing with certification in the program population focus. The PD reports to the Chair of the Department of Nursing and collaborates closely with the other DNP/APRN program directors to provide leadership to the DNP/APRN team. The PD will collaborate with department faculty and staff to foster a culture of civility and inclusion in support of College diversity.

Required Qualifications
- Must have an RN license in the State of Minnesota, or the ability to obtain licensure in the State of Minnesota
- Must hold national certification in the respective area/population foci (Family Practice, Acute Care Adult-Gerontology, Psychiatric Mental Health)
- Prior teaching experience
- Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills, multicultural competency, and experience interacting effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff
- Direct experiential knowledge and history of immersion in the specified area
- Terminal degree in nursing or a related field in progress, or intent to enroll

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the program
- Serve as a content expert and primary contact for the specialty/program
- Assist with course evaluation, program evaluation, and data collection
- Participate in evaluating adjunct faculty
- Work with the department chair to determine:
- Faculty resource needs
- Equipment resource needs
- Faculty loads and assignments
- Course schedule development
- Play a lead role in the admission of program students
- Play a lead role in program orientation events
- Assist in the coordination of program recruitment events when needed
- Serve as the first contact for faculty concerning student issues, or general program concerns
- Work directly with clinical placement team to oversee clinical experiences for students and ensure compliance with clinical requirements
- Curriculum
- The PD is the content expert and is responsible for bringing best practices to facilitate program excellence; the PD will review the curriculum and policies for compliance with accreditation standards and population-specific competencies
