Responsibilities
Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations within respective department (Melt/Cast, Hot rolling, Cold rolling, Continuous thermal/coating treatment and Finishing operations).
Lead area level 2 engineering and provide support for achieving plant's safety, customer, quality, sustainability, and profit objectives.
Collaborate with operations team members, troubleshoot system process issues, and provide engineered solutions to the problems.
Develop and maintain level 2 procedures and documentation.
Support for restoration of flow during breakdowns by providing expert knowledge to operations and maintenance personnel.
Develop capital improvement projects, associated timelines, and oversee project executions.
Become the level 2 expert for the department, providing technical leadership, mentoring, and upskilling of staff that support the department.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering from a 4-Year accredited institution. Proven experience may be taken in lieu of a degree.
Job posting is open to all levels of experience as an Electrical, Controls, Systems, Software or Automation Engineer in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Experience in an Aluminum or Steel industry manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.
Experience in building client/server applications.
Experience with SQL programming and relational databases.
Experience in multi-threaded applications.
Experience in Windows operating system management and configuration as it relates to a networked manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop requirements, specifications, and all else required to specify, plan, and execute process and system improvement projects.
Experience with C# and C++ programming languages.
Experience with .NET software.
Experience with Thin client administration and implementation.
Experience with OPC/UA servers and configuration.
Experience in PLC systems configuration and programming (i.e., Siemens, Modicon, and Rockwell Automation), development in user interface applications (i.e., WinCC Flexible, RSView and InTouch), and tuning and troubleshooting AC/DC motor drives preferred, but not required.
Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance management systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced problem solving and creative thinking skills
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
