Position Summary
The EHS&S Specialist Engineer is an integral part of the ASP team and works closely with manufacturing, quality, and R&D organizationscross-functional teams to identify and address EHS needs and requirementsand sustainability priorities in North America. ASP is a medical device manufacturer, and as such, EHS&S operations are integrated into a robust quality management system and production processes and are critical to continued plant operations. You will assess effectiveness of EHS&S programs and work collaboratively with other departments to develop, implement, improve, and sustain EHS&S programs and processes to ensure a safe, and compliant and sustainable work environment. Teamwork is critical to the success of this position. The EHS Specialist Engineer reports to the Director leader of Global Facilities/EHS and sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, general direction, etc. and in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations and ASP policies, procedures and guidelines, this position will:
Development, implementation, improvement, and sustainment of EHS and sustainability programs
EHS&S Training development, deployment, and tracking
EHS&S Record keeping and reporting
EHS&S Compliance auditing
EHS&S Management System auditing
Frequent interaction with manufacturing, and QA, R&D and field organizations to understand their needs and requirements
Completion of Job Hazard Assessments
Supporting emergency response and first aid programs
Focus on improvements and enhancements to all aspects of EHS&S Programs
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
Performs other duties assigned as needed
Other Duties:

Support ISO 14001 environmental certification process for the Irvine manufacturing facility.
Qualifications
Education:
High School or Equivalent
Associate's Degree
Bachelor's Degree
Master's Degree
PhD Degree
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Years of Related Experience:
1-2 years of experience in EHS in a medical device manufacturing or similar setting.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications/Licenses, and Affiliations:
(Include any required computer skills, regulatory knowledge, certifications, licenses, languages, cognitive and behavioral abilities etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Able to multi-task and solve problems effectively
Ability to comfortably and successfully interact with employees at all levels and from all backgrounds
A quick learner who can assess, evaluate and act on situations promptly.
Excellent organizational ability with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work on multiple projects with strong attention to detail
Tenacious and able to work in a high intensity ever changing working environment.
Well-developed computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
The position requires up toat least 10% travel.
