Bennett Thrasher ("BT") has an opening for a Tax Manager with our Personal Financial Services Group. This individual will be working with Partners on our High Net worth Individual (HNWI) / Personal Financial Services team, Managers help to lead, mentor and coach team members in various areas of tax compliance and across consulting engagements. They are responsible for management of engagements and client communications while promoting a collaborative environment to bring value to clients.

Bennett Thrasher ("BT") has an opening for a Tax Manager with our Personal Financial Services Group. This individual will be working with Partners on our High Net worth Individual (HNWI) / Personal Financial Services team, Managers help to lead, mentor and coach team members in various areas of tax compliance and across consulting engagements. They are responsible for management of engagements and client communications while promoting a collaborative environment to bring value to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibits a high level understanding of technical requirements, procedures and principles
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of specialized industry and/or regulatory requirements
- Helps to manage and monitor preparation and review of complex individual, estate, gift, trust and business tax returns, including projections and estimate calculations
- Reviews and advises on technical research memorandum
- Ability to apply relevant tax law to clients and circumstances
- Identifies area of specialization and is continuously refining skills, knowledge and expertise
- Develops effective working relationships with clients and firm associates
- Collaborates with others to provide quality service to clients
- Engages and Leads client meetings
- Promotes additional services to client when appropriate
- Develops intimate knowledge of clients and their business activities
- Communicates with the IRS and other state authorities in a professional manner
- Contributes and supports new ideas on internal processes and client engagements
- Effectively delegates responsibility providing proper instructions, monitoring and coaching
- Conducts training for associates
- Manages projects by scheduling associates, tracking completion and managing the budget
- Gives feedback effectively to minimize repeated errors and apply new concepts
- Maintains open communication with team regarding the progress of completion on projects
- Participates actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and as a facilitator
- Manages all aspects of billing, including client inquiries
- Develops appropriate fee quotes for new tax engagements
- Represents the goals of the firm on a consistent basis internally and externally
- Networks to promote Bennett Thrasher and for development purposes
Qualifications:
- Accounting undergraduate degree required, Master's preferred
- CPA required
- 5+ years of tax experience is required, preferably with High Net Worth Individuals
- Advanced knowledge of Federal and Georgia income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong project management and delegation skills
