Position Summary:

The Retail & Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for procuring all necessary items to sell at retail, as well as purchasing any and all items and materials necessary for the day-to-day operations at Grand Canyon Resort Corporation. This individual will work with GCRC leadership, operational departments, and vendors to find the most efficient and cost-effective methods to obtain these items and materials. This position will also be responsible for researching new vendors, including performing RFPs, and forming / maintaining positive and professional business relationships to ensure successful operations at GCRC. This role is also responsible for overseeing inventory in all areas and at all levels of the organization, which includes optimizing inventory methods and minimizing loss. The individual in this position will also be expected to act as a Hualapai ambassador and in the best interests of the Hualapai Tribe at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Research and consistently evaluate optimal level of inventory to maximize profits. Evaluate pricing on an ongoing basis.

2. Operate as an advisor to various operating departments to assist in purchasing, pricing, retail space optimization and displays, and inventory analysis.

3. Work with Marketing to ensure consistent branding throughout the retail space and with anything related to purchasing.

4. Evaluate vendor performance on an ongoing basis. Ensure GCRC is utilizing the most cost effective solutions.

5. Remain up to date and ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Address and advise revisions to any and all departmental or company policies when deemed necessary.

6. Promote, develop, and maintain effective communication, interaction, and excellent relationships with all department leaders, which includes ensuring that the needs of outside departments and department leadership are identified and met efficiently and consistently.

7. Perform all functions with the highest level of integrity.

8. Observe and follow all departmental procedures.

9. Manage and maintain security of confidential information entrusted to position.

10. Keep the CFO and executive team apprised of any and all ongoing issues and concerns, at all times.

11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities:

1. Thorough knowledge of industry best-practices as they relate to retail, supply chain, procurement, purchasing, and inventory management.

2. Intricate understanding of purchasing and inventory management systems.

3. Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to recruit, train, develop, and motivate a team of professionals.

4. Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills. Proven ability to analyze unique situations and develop a solution to resolve conflicts.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in retail, supply chain management, business administration, or another related field, required.

2. Minimum of five (5) years experience managing a supply chain function in a large organization with multiple business locations, required.

3. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, at least five (10) years experience managing a supply chain function in a large organization with multiple business locations, required.

4. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent guest service, and to support Team Members and guests in a positive and professional manner, required.

5. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both as an individual and as part of a team.

6. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

7. Experience working for a Tribal entity, preferred.

8. Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

9. Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.

Physical Demands:

1. While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, bend for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen on a regular basis.

2. The Team Member must be able to concentrate for prolonged periods.

3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

4. The Team Member must be able to communicate effectively in person or using telecommunications equipment.

5. Must have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, touch-screen display, telephone, and calculator.

6. Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.

Conditions of Employment:

1. Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States.

2. Must be at least 18 years of age.

3. Must possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record, and be able to obtain approval to operate a company vehicle.

4. Must comply with the GCRC Team Member Handbook, internal policies and procedures, and all rules and regulations set within GCRC and the Tribe.

Working Conditions:

Work environment will be both indoor and in outdoor environments in multiple business locations. This will involve exposure to extreme weather conditions including, but not limited to: heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow. Occasional travel (local and statewide) for meetings, assignments, and regular job tasks. Extended and irregular hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be needed on occasion to meet business needs. Must be able to perform under pressure and work under stressful conditions. May be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with irate Team Members and guests.

Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) is wholly-owned by the Hualapai Tribe and is located in Peach Springs, Arizona. In 1988, the Hualapai Indian Tribe, which has occupied the land since 1883, established GCRC, welcoming millions of visitors each year to tour the area, including the nearby lodge, ranch, river rafting company and Grand Canyon West. To further increase tourism in the area, the Grand Canyon Skywalk was built in 2007. The Skywalk is a glass, horseshoe-shaped bridge that enables visitors to walk beyond the canyon walls at Grand Canyon West, suspending them 4,000 feet above the riverbed and providing an unparalleled view of this natural wonder.
