TITLE: Infectious Disease Physician
Duties: Examine, diagnose and deliver care for a wide variety of health conditions to include HIV, viral hepatitis, travel medicine and outpatient infectious disease consultations to adult patients. Prescribe and administer medications or other specialized medical care. Order tests and interpret results and medical histories to diagnose patients' conditions. Analyze test data or images to inform diagnoses or treatment. Monitor patients' conditions and progress to reevaluate treatment as required. Explain medical procedures and treatments to patients and their family members and request necessary tests and follow-up visits. Organize and maintain data concerning patients' test results, family, medical history, and onset of symptoms obtained from patient, relatives and other sources; determine appropriate conclusions/diagnoses based on this data. Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, assistants, specialists, and other medical staff. Conduct research to develop or test medications, treatments, or procedures to prevent or control disease.
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
SALARY: $212,000 per year

REQUIREMENTS: Medical Doctorate degree or foreign equivalent degree and Board Certification in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine; and Must have an active South Carolina medical license.

- HIV/AIDS: Pneumocystitis Jiroveci Pneumonia (PCP) Prophylaxis;
- HIV/AIDS: HIV RNA Control after six months of potent antiretroviral therapy; and
- HIV/AIDS: Sexually Transmitted Disease Screening for Syphilis.
