Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will report to the Finance Director - North America, and must have sound knowledge of general ledger reconciliations, taxation, payroll, budgeting, and management reporting, together with a strong working knowledge of Excel and integrated accounting systems. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, analysis and reporting of accounting and financial information of the company's US entity. This individual will ensure reliability and accuracy of information and reports and ensure that the financial accounting and statutory and regulatory reporting are performed accurately.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, analysis and reporting of accounting and financial information of the company's US entity. This individual will ensure reliability and accuracy of information and reports and ensure that the financial accounting and statutory and regulatory reporting are performed accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain integrity of general ledger.
- Manage End of Month and End of Year processes and reconciliations for reporting and analysis.
- Perform month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and cost center variance analysis.
- Daily review of sales and inventory transactions prior to posting in the ledger.
- Provide support to payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable team member.
- Assist and review the bi-weekly payroll process.
- Reconcile monthly/ quarterly payroll tax returns lodged by ADP as against the payments made to ADP and manage the payroll tax notices.
- Prepare payroll journals and accruals.
- Review supplier batch payments and employee expense claims.
- Responsible for vendor data creation and maintenance.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Assist with monthly forecasting and annual budget preparation.
- Assist on statutory and tax compliance activities.
- Assist in audit activities and any ad hoc requests from external auditors and HQ Finance team.
- Participate in system and business process improvement initiatives within the wider finance team.
- Ensure system integrity and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Proactively identifying gaps and contributing creative and innovative ideas that support efficiency, effectiveness and value add to the enterprise.

Minimum requirements
- CPA or CA qualified, relevant bachelor's degree (Accounting major), or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience in a full function accounting role
- Must possess strong working knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong MS office particularly Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables)
- Cloud based ERP systems and BI tool knowledge
- Relevant experience in commercial and inventory-based business
- Great attention to detail and time management
