Currently, Alliant Health Solutions, a "2023 Best Place to Work and Healthiest Employer", seeks a Director, Emergency Preparedness. This role is contingent on contract award. The Director, Emergency Preparedness oversees QIN-QIO emergency preparedness for hospitals and long-term care facilities including plans, preparation and procedures for responding to natural disasters and other emergencies to mitigate risks to people and property for contract scope of work.

In this role, the ideal candidate will:
  • Lead, guide, assess, analyze and evaluate emergencies and hazards; and prepare plans to respond to emergencies and using quality improvement methodology, implementation science, healthcare facilitation, intervention effectiveness, behavioral science, and other Alliant-adopted strategies to understand, measure, and predict contract performance through timely and effective measures.
  • Utilize Salesforce and Power BI with development of plans and programs
  • Collaborate and meet with public safety officials, private companies, and the public regarding emergency response plans
  • Organize emergency response training for staff, volunteers, and other responders
  • Coordinate the sharing of resources and equipment within and across communities to assist in responding to an emergency
  • Analyze and prepare damage assessments following disasters or emergencies
  • Review emergency plans of individual organizations, such as medical facilities, to ensure their adequacy
  • Apply for federal funding for emergency management planning, responses, and recovery, and report on the use of funds allocated
  • Review local emergency operations plans and revise them if necessary

Other Job Functions
  • Work in close collaboration with other team members to support the development of new projects and the continuous improvement of the overall work of the team.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this role include:
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to communicate in verbal and written formats, includes presentation skills
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to manage and collaborate with a team
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to manage and prioritize time; lead projects; and meet or exceed goals
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to assess and understand information up to and including implementation science methodologies to assess barriers and facilitate effective healthcare delivery.
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to use and understand Microsoft Office Suite; and Salesforce and Power BI or similar applications and tools
  • Ability to travel by car or plane to Company locations, customer meetings or other locations as needed

Education, experience and training required and preferred for the position are below:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in public health or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8-10+ years of experience in safety, emergency management and/or related field healthcare management role.
  • Incident Management Team Certifications.
  • Experience in federal and state emergency management frameworks (e.g., National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS)).

Preferred:
  • Certification in emergency preparedness management
