Job Summary:
PIC Group is seeking a Project Manager to support a 500MW Peaking Facility with one coal fired steam turbine and two kerosene fueled combustion turbines located in southern New Hampshire. The Project Manager will report to the Plant Manager, and will Monitor and manage large-scale, energy related projects from initiation through completion. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the successful completion of station projects, providing direction to power plant personnel as well as external contractors used to complete the work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Determine and define project scope and objectives
Provide and perform boiler inspections, recommendations, and repairs; Safety for Boiler Inspections; Controls / Combustion Trouble Shooting; System Upgrades; and Efficiency Upgrades
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in a safe, effective, and efficient manner
Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
Track project costs to meet budget
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
Monitor progress and adjust as needed
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
Job Requirements:
Proficiency and previous working knowledge of various high pressure steam boiler systems such as fire-tube and water-tube.
Prior hands on experience with industrial, commercial and process boiler/burner systems, to include various boiler equipment & associated controls, electrical circuits, combustion, and piping.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and with little direction.
Demonstrated capability with detailed accurate work, as well as accurate documentation of data.
Effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the site.
Strong computer skills and previous experience with MS Office required.
Proficient in managing multiple tasks at once.
Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate boiler-related standards.
Proven ability to solve problems creatively
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
Excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day.
Must be able to pass a respirator fit test.
Must meet and maintain the physical requirements to pass a DOT physical.
Capable of working in confined spaces
Capable of working at height
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, not required
8+ years of project management and related experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred, not required.
