What we do:

The Lead CFD Engineer will develop and help to implement detailed plans for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Computational Aero Acoustics (CAA) analysis for electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft design, development, and testing. This role will interface regularly with the broader Flight Technology team and will be responsible for planning and execution of analyses, data management, standard methodologies, and serve as a source of technical guidance to the larger CFD team.
What you can do:
  • Plan, lead, and help to implement CFD analyses to support the design and testing of eVTOL at varying stages of development
  • Provide technical guidance to other CFD Engineers and the broader team
  • Run CFD to provide feedback for aerodynamic databases
  • Run CAA to provide recommendations for aircraft noise levels
  • Plan and help to perform CFD of aerodynamic interactions at the component and vehicle levels
  • Familiarity with low and mid fidelity open rotors noise analysis
  • Propose ideas and collaborate on the down-selection and development of sound Design of Experiment guidelines and repeatable, automated processes to optimize computational throughput
  • Propose ideas and collaborate on the down-selection and development of analysis techniques for unconventional designs
  • Work with the broader engineering team to plan, lead, and help to conduct multi-disciplinary trade studies to guide design decisions
  • Support ground and flight tests
What you can contribute:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering field required
  • Master's Degree or Ph.D. preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
  • Demonstrated history of successful contributions in progressively more senior roles
  • Experience with state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics analysis techniques
  • A broad understanding of CFD engineering fundamentals
  • Extensive knowledge of how to use CFD to evaluate new and novel technologies
You may also be able to contribute:
  • Familiarity with and understanding of vertical lift aircraft
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite


Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is:

$204,200-$260,700 USD
