Primary Purpose:
The District Data Assessment Director monitors, communicates and responds to local, state, and federal accountability systems to provide high quality, well-focused support for district administration and campus leadership. This position will work with the curriculum and instruction department to plan, develop, and coordinate research, analysis, measurement, and reporting of data and other critical information for accountability to support the district and campuses in increasing student achievement, CCMR, and graduation rate.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to articulate and apply rules and regulations related to state and federal accountability measures
Strong understanding of college, career, and military readiness
Strong understanding of course sequencing, special programs, and PEIMS coding as it relates to student scheduling, achievement, and accountability
Strong knowledge base of test data disaggregation
Ability to work with statistical analysis
Strong computer skills and ability to work with databases
Ability to plan and conduct effective staff development opportunities
Experience
Three (3) years of experience in assessment, accountability and/or research, preferred
Demonstrated experience managing, analyzing, and reporting data to inform decision making
Demonstrated experience in creating and leading professional development related to accountability and instruction
Experience in working with high school systems for scheduling, accountability, and graduation requirements preferred
Experience in school turnaround and improvement preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:Provides campus and district leaders with student performance data to gauge progress, inform good decision making, and target assistance for students, teachers, and campuses. Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations to ensure that all student information is kept confidential. Conduct formative and summative program evaluations. Provides support and training for school staff to ensure smooth operations and processes when collecting and reporting student information. Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the district's vision. Utilize the district's student data system to measure student performance over time to inform educational decision-making. Stays current of changes in the field and provides guidance related to the state assessment program. Prepares customized reports for the board, district administration, and campuses. Collaborates with a variety of internal and external parties for providing and/or receiving data analysis information, changes to state and federal regulations related to accountability, compliance, coursework, and program expectations. Participates in meetings, workshops, or trainings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job duties. Interpret state, district and school assessment data reports for internal use and presentations. Plan and conduct staff development and/or training Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, counselors, and educational leaders Audit campus systems to ensure compliance, efficiency, and best practices Perform other duties as assigned.
