As part of Arizona PBS' education unit, this position performs administrative functions by assisting with the planning, organizing and directing the day-to-day operations of the Arizona Early Childhood Workforce and Professional Development Registry. Regional program specialists report to this position. This position plays a key role by serving on the education leadership team for Arizona PBS.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND six (6) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Ten (10) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Extensive knowledge of the Arizona Early Childhood Workforce Registry and First Things First College Scholarship Program
  • Experience in prioritizing and organizing, problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Supervisory and coaching experience of early childhood education professionals
  • Experience in both written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Experience in teaching adults and non-traditional college students.
  • Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid US Drivers' License

Essential Duties

  • Serves as the main contact for the Registry with First Things First and is responsible for supervising regional program specialists geographically located throughout the state. Also serves as technical liaison between the Registry, Registry online infrastructure provider, and government/non-profit agencies utilizing said infrastructure.
  • Contributes to internal workflow and updates to Arizona Early Childhood Network, and its policies and procedures. Collaborates with lead government/non-profit agencies and higher education representatives on behalf of Registry and Arizona PBS.
  • Creates technical assistance and professional development resources for early childhood educators related to Registry. Works with the Arizona PBS education leadership team on various station opportunities to present Registry and other content aligned to the Arizona Early Childhood Workforce Standards at state and national conferences.
  • Conducts weekly regional program specialist team meetings and coaches team members with outreach strategy, technical Registry elements, and professional development opportunities. Collaborates with Arizona PBS Education Assistant Director/ Institutes of Higher Education (IHE) Liaison on statewide Registry outreach communities of practice including one for general Registry users and one for First Things First college scholarship recipients.
