Overview
Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the operational, fiscal and personnel activities to ensure the provision of high quality, safe patient/family centered care at the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Advocates for resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate nursing care. Practices as a nursing leader consistently with applicable state nursing practice regulations, applicable ASC policies and procedures, and the ANA Code of Ethics.
Responsibilities
Manages the surgical schedule to meet anticipated staffing needs. Plans adequate staffing and adjustments in alignment with patient volume and clinical needs. Helps to manage the ASC, to ensure clinical competency of staff, quality of patient/family centered care and professional development of clinical staff. Identifies opportunities for best practices and continued improvement and oversees implementation of such practices. Responsible for operationalizing best practices in team care coordination. Proactively accesses safety risks and promotes and models a culture of safety. Helps to manage staff and processes to achieve outcomes and organizational goals in regard to clinical quality, patient safety, and patient experience. Ensures that unit facilities and equipment meet necessary standard and monitors utilization of equipment. Assures that Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory standards are met in the clinical area. Assures that evidenced based practice and nursing practice standards are achieved in the clinical area. Assumes accountability for maintaining a safe work environment in alignment with Dartmouth-Hitchcock's commitment to employee safety and regulatory requirements including but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), CMS and applicable state and federal law. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Required Licensure/Certifications

Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- Master's degree strongly preferred.
- Supervisory and/or management experience required.
- 5 years of progressive responsibility within an Ambulatory Surgery Center/ PeriOperative setting required.
- Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies within assigned unit.
- Clinical or professional certification preferred.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for PACU only
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
