The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the ongoing operations and continual improvement of the college's information technology infrastructure. The Infrastructure Manager leads a team of Systems and Network Administrators in analysis, design, implementation, and operation of systems supporting the college's academic and administrative goals.
The IT Infrastructure Manager will participate in the operation and management of IT security systems, systems and security architecture, digital security investigations and the monitor compliance of Digital Security Standards and Policy for Olds College.
NOTE: This is not a remote position.

Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required:
- A degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems (MIS), or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Five years of progressive responsibility including IT Security, network and systems administration.
- Previous experience supervising technical staff.
- Experience or certification or enrollment in one or more of the following will be considered an asset: ITIL v3 Foundation, COBIT SSCP, GIAC Certifications, COMP TIA Security+, Desire or intention for the following certifications: CISM, CISSP, SANS Certifications, etc.
- Experience using vulnerability assessment software and tools (Nessus, Nexpose, nmap, Burpsuite, Qualys, OpenVAS).
- Risk and Incident Response training and/or experience will be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with methods used to detect the presence of malicious activity on servers, workstations, and infrastructure.
- Proven experience delivering quality technology solutions within schedules and budgets.
- Extensive experience managing operational enterprise information technology systems including data, voice, and video networks; data centres; servers; databases; authentication systems, communications and collaboration systems, and enterprise applications.
- Significant hands-on technical knowledge of information systems.
- Skilled at evaluating new technological development for business application.
- Managerial skills including effective team development, delegation, collaboration, diplomacy, policy development and business skills.
- Ability to train, motivate and develop staff.
- Understanding of the unique needs of the post-secondary educational environment.
- Excellent planning and project management skills.
- Strong commitment to service and addressing the needs of end users.
- Strong communication skills, maintaining professionalism in stressful situations.
- Effective writing skills.
- Ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
