Position Summary:
Reporting to the IT Analytics Manager, this position will be responsible for supporting Meditech Expanse applications.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
College degree required. Certifications in server and storage management, networking, and operating systems are preferred, but not required if significant work experience in these areas.
Workplace Experience:
Responsible for management of the application support life cycle, primarily focused on central hardware (servers and storage), interfaces, disaster recovery / business continuity, and health information exchange (HIE).
Equipment and Skills Training:
Must be proficient in the software tools utilized for each system in the Information Technology application portfolio, primarily Meditech HCIS. Applicants must be familiar with PC hardware and connected/interfaced printers, modems and/or instrumentation. Skills include: typing skills, organization and management of multiple projects and people in order to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to be successful in this position.
Physical Environment:
Applicant will be familiar with office and hospital setting and all areas pertinent to the position.
Physical Effort:
Requires significant unrestricted movement in and around entire hospital campus, and the ability to stoop, bend, reach and lift in areas where computer equipment exists, including small closets, under desks and shelves. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other communications/computer components. Installation and inspection of cables and wiring in floors and ceilings. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as communications equipment and peripherals.
Key Results:
Develop technical skills to resolve complex issues with software applications and underlying infrastructure
Follow change control policy and procedures
End user support for Meditech modules. Meet regularly with customers, develop plans for and oversee dictionary builds, test new functionality, and coordinate move of new builds and software into production.
Based on customer requests, state requirements, and industry best practices, develop reports and data feeds. Determine the best approach to fill requests from Meditech transaction data, SQL data repository, and other sources.
Performs on-call duties as required, and additional tasks/responsibilities as defined.
Develop and maintain site-specific documentation of the Meditech modules, and workflows implemented
Provide application training to customers and other IT analysts. Maintain system documentation. Stay up-to-date with industry standards.
Enter cases for application support in vendor ticketing systems, and coordinate activities that lead to problem resolution.
Over time, develop skills in Meditech system administration for MIS settings and parameters, NPR report writing, and other tools.
Coordinate detailed testing of new features and bug fixes in Meditech priority packs (software updates.)
From a systems perspective, support department activities that occur at regular intervals.
As appropriate, lead system projects, and document activities in the IT Department systems such as Smartsheet and Service Now
