Role Description:
We are seeking an AI Application Engineer to design and build software solutions that enable AI-powered mission capabilities. In this role you will build applications that use vision, language and other models that have been targeted for specific hardware and use cases to enable next-level mission capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Travel Expectations/Requirements: 5-15%
Location Expectations: Hybrid 3 days in the office in Phoenix, Arizona

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience. Compensation ranges are established using national benchmarking data and apply across all geographic locations within the United States.

- Build AI-powered applications that enable important mission use cases
- Build monitoring, testing and benchmarking frameworks for your AI applications
- Design AI application patterns that optimize performance under power, heat and other hardware constraints
- Work closely with teammates to ensure a fun, experimental, and cohesive culture

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably with some experience developing applications for embedded systems in Linux, Android
- Experience with LLM application patterns and components like vector databases, vector embeddings, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), prompting, chat with history
- Experience using model inference APIs on GPUs and other custom hardware
- Familiarity with fine-tuning models for specific tasks like query optimization and providing assistance within narrow topics
- Loves to grow and to grow others through technical mentorship! Enjoys thinking critically, learning new technologies, and working with the team to cut through ambiguity
- Experience developing applications that build AI APIs into smart agents
- Experience developing applications using multimodal AI models
- Proficiency in DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation
