Director, Engineering & Facilities
Fareva is currently seeking an experienced Director, Engineering & Facilities to join their team in Richmond, VA.
Job Description:
Reporting to the site General Manager, the incumbent is responsible for all activities related to Process and Packaging Engineering Services, Facilities Maintenance Operations, Environmental, Health and Safety administration and site Security. This includes all plant physical infrastructures, utilities, maintenance, custodial services, grounds keeping and all management of engineering services. The position is also responsible for Commissioning Services, Computerized Drafting and Design activities and Site Archives.
In addition, the incumbent is responsible for the scoping, budgeting, and day-to-day management of all site managed capital projects, as well as to provide the site engineering/maintenance.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Support
Plan capital expenditures, identify appropriate equipment, and implement cost reduction /continuous improvement strategies. Support site strategy through the following activities:
o Identification of state of the art equipment designed to maximize site OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
o Supports site production by identifying opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency of plant equipment and systems, reducing operating costs through automation and implementing capital improvements to expand capabilities
o Develops and executes site strategy for equipment control systems and associated software
Reliable Supply of Core Utilities
Establish and manage preventive maintenance program for utilities and equipment
Maintenance of equipment and buildings in accordance with cGMP
Management of Site Capital Projects
Sets scope, budget, and schedule for assigned capital projects
Initiates funding requests including business case and appropriate justifications
Manages projects from initiation through to successful operation
Generate/Maintain Site Master Plan
Interfaces with strategic planning to determine business needs
Integrates cGMP requirements
Environmental Health and Safety
Responsible for developing and implementing EHS programs - Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Permitting and Compliance, Loss Prevention and Control, Industrial Hygiene, Biosafety, Emergency Preparedness, Process Safety, Ergonomics, Contractor and Construction Safety.
Security
Ensures development and implementation of site security programs.
Budget/Asset Accountability:
Administers spending budget and labor budgets
Determines replacement costs for assets administration
Overall maintenance responsibility for all site buildings and facilities.
Budgeting and cash flow forecasting responsibility for annual capital program and ongoing multi-year projects.
Performance Management
Sets individual objectives and development plans
Coaches subordinates
Establishes department succession plans
Assures adherence to company policies, OSHA regulations and proper training of employees
Job Requirements:
BS degree in Mechanical; Electrical, Chemical or other engineering disciplines, Advanced degree preferred
Professional Engineer preferred
10+ year's previous management experience at Manager level or higher
15+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry with experience in major project management and service management
Significant Project Management experience required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
