ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with management to identify the IT and financial system objectives that will have the most significant impact on District outcomes and results.


  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand their technical requirements and to gather feedback from end users about system performance. Prepare functional specifications to guide the development of system improvements.


  • Propose new systems and changes to existing systems to management to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of department operations.
  • Evaluate existing IT systems and internal processes; collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement within these infrastructures. Leverage knowledge of available technologies to optimize the efficiency of systems.


  • Participate in team meetings; provide input on intelligent solutions to improve efficiency.


  • Utilize modeling, data analysis, and processes to design new workflows and ways of using systems.


  • Plan and oversee the configuration and implementation of new IT processes, etc. Manage the activities of technical staff to complete needed work; verify the completion of tasks by set deadlines; and communicate progress to stakeholders at regular intervals.


  • Troubleshoot and debug IT systems to ensure error-free functionality and end-user satisfaction.


  • Serve as the primary department liaison with IT systems vendor support teams to resolve technical issues


  • Serve as the primary department liaison in supporting the upgrade of enterprise systems used by the department to newer versions. Coordinate the completion of process reviews, end-user testing, and other upgrade-related tasks.


  • Register new vendors and coordinate their setup in the system.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Verifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S.


  • Must pass Federal and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation background check in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code Section 3301-83-06


Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (bachelor's degree preferred)


  • 5+ years of experience


  • 5+ years of Excel experience with knowledge of vlookups and pivot tables


  • 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server or Access with knowledge of SQL


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, or equivalent applications


  • Knowledge of databases, system security, and troubleshooting


PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES/DEMANDS

  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 20 pounds (50 pounds on wheels)
