The Interplanetary Initiative (II) is at the forefront of shaping an inclusive and sustainable human space future by addressing big societal and systems questions. We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious candidate to manage and scale our diverse project portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-career professional to make a significant impact.
As the Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing the impact of the II's broad and diverse project portfolio, which ranges from space technologies to policy, public engagement, and social-science focused projects. You will work with faculty, students, and staff to advance projects and bring in external collaborators and funding that support the mission of the initiative.

Flexible work options:
- Alternative work schedules can include four, 10-hour workdays in a workweek; a nine-day, 80-hour schedule over two workweeks for exempt employees only; and staggered start and stop times.
- Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.
- Remote work is an arrangement where the employee spends less than 60% of their regular workweek at a regularly assigned ASU work location. Executive vice president-level approval is required.

Essential Duties
- Strategic Partnerships: Act as the point person for strategic partnerships, designing and facilitating meetings and workshops that advance collaborations and deliver intended results.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate the core strengths and capabilities of the II to external partners, initiating mutually beneficial collaborations.
- Project Management: Ensure that II's projects meet their milestones, deliverables, and timelines within budget.
- Engagement: Engage collaborators and funders to advance and scale the impact of the II's project portfolio.
- Strategy Development: Inform the II's strategy based on private sector priorities.
- Intelligence Gathering: Gather strategic intelligence on partners' needs and history, helping position the II to address market needs.
- Proposal Development: Develop funding and partnership proposal concepts and narratives in collaboration with subject matter experts.
