Position Overview

The Terminal Manager is responsible for supervising daily operations and all operational activities at the terminal to include recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, developing, and retaining a best-in-class team. This role includes managing all operational duties, ensuring efficient performance, and maintaining a high standard of service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intermodal transportation, demonstrated leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to managing terminal operations.

Important Job Functions
  • Perform necessary administrative tasks to support terminal operations.
  • Manage P&L responsibilities to include monitoring and managing operational costs.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements where appropriate.
  • Oversee and manage all activities within the depot, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Train employees and regularly audit their work to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Handle the recruitment process for new employees, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates.
  • Daily review and manage out-of-service equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Order and maintain parts inventory to ensure operational readiness.
  • Handle all customer communications related to maintenance and repair (M&R) issues, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Provide constructive feedback to staff to enhance performance and address issues.
  • Create a safe and positive working environment where employees feel included, recognized, and heard
  • Conduct all business in a highly ethical manner, exhibiting behavior, practices, and standards that uphold IMC core values
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of intermodal transportation and port operations is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing intermodal terminal operations, port operations, dispatch, and working with owner operators.
  • Expert knowledge of DOT regulations and hazardous materials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with staff and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support terminal operations.
