The Opportunity:
West Liberty University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Chair of the Department of Nursing. This position is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position with administrative responsibilities and reports to the Dean of the College of Sciences, with some additional administrative duties totaling approximately 20 additional days per academic year.

West Liberty University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Chair of the Department of Nursing. Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership, resolve personnel issues, and communicate effectively with faculty and staff.
- Supervise faculty and staff, oversee program organization, administration, and fiscal management.
- Conduct continuous programmatic review, planning, and development in compliance with CCNE and West Virginia State Board of Nursing requirements.
- Ensure adherence to CCNE policies and standards, including completion of required documentation.
- Manage departmental assessments, collaborate with faculty, staff, and Admissions for student recruitment, and oversee the admissions process.
- Evaluate, develop, and implement curriculum in alignment with CCNE standards.
- Conduct program evaluations, submit annual reports to the Provost/VP Academic Affairs Office, and participate in required institutional training.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Current, active RN license or privilege to practice that is unencumbered and meets West Virginia State Board of Nursing requirements.
- Graduate degree in nursing required; doctorate preferred.
- Education or experience in teaching with knowledge of learning principles.
- At least three years of experience in higher education and five years of professional nursing experience.
- Current knowledge of registered nursing practice and nursing education accreditation.
