Description:

This research associate position in biomedical engineering has a specific emphasis on neural engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in non-invasive brain stimulation including TMS, tACS, or related methods. Further experience with EEG and MRI imaging is of advantage. In addition, the applicant should have experience in writing scientific communications and presenting research findings at national and international conferences.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate the progress of a research project. (50%)
  • Supervise research assistants and laboratory personnel. (25%)
  • Prepare and present data to study investigators. (10%)
  • Author, co-author, and otherwise collaborate on reports, conference papers, and journal articles. (15%)


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or similarly related field.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with research background in noninvasive neuromodulation.
  • Experience in electrophysiological signal processing strongly preferred.
  • Experience with biomedical imaging (EEG, MRI).
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals


About the Department

This position is located in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, which is an undergraduate and graduate degree granting academic and research unit within the College of Science & Engineering. BME has 20 core faculty with additional affiliated faculty from other departments. Department researchers explore the following areas of emphasis: bioinstrumentation and medical devices, biomaterials and micro/nanofabrication, biomechanics, biomedical optics and imaging, biomolecular, cellular and tissue engineering, cancer bioengineering, cardiovascular engineering, neural engineering.
