Collins Aerospace is looking for a Project Engineer within the Program Technical Office (PTO) who will provide program level technical support to design, analyze, test, and fabricate development products and prototypes and support in-service programs. In this role you will gain experience in the various phase of the product life cycle ranging from productconception through end-of-life in both commercial and military contracts.You will also be responsibleformanaging technical content, scheduling, and cost of products and projects.In addition, you will be responsible for communicating with customers and leadership ensuring the technical integrity of the program and products through successful execution of all engineering aspects of the program, meeting technical requirements and staying within the required schedule and cost constraints. You will be reporting to the Program Technical Manager.
Position is currently working remotely. Will need to work onsite in a hybrid capacity when circumstances permit in 2022.

Primary Responsibilities
- Perform activities in a wide variety of cross-functional areas including design engineering, materials development, process development, and supplier development.
- Independently plan and support design & development, supporting in-service program objectives of safety, reliability, and cost.
- Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
- Prepares or directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.
- Ensure customer satisfaction: 100% on-time delivery for Engineering deliverables, execute within budget, meet performance across the programs, keep promises made
- Application of appropriate problem solving and quality methodologies (DIVE/ RCCA/ 3P/ PPAP etc) and drive root cause investigations.
- Work in team-oriented environment with all levels within the organization, across functions and with customers.
- Driving consistent engineering execution with written process documentation that is understandable for those with limited technical background.
- Prepare test plans, analyze test data, and prepare reports to support project activity, and maintain up-to-date records of project test results.
- Perform other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
- Experience with Project Engineering Management (including experience using project cost/schedule/budget and management tools)
- Experience leading a team in a fast paced highly matrixed organization and acting as the customer focal
- Experience managing multiple projects at any one time
- Experience communicating and making/delivering presentations to senior level leadership to external and internal customers.
- Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Experience with 3D modeling software
- Working level knowledge of Finite Element Analysis
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and fundamentals of Root Cause Analysis (RCAs)
- Experience making determinations regarding the quality, safety, and compliance of products and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings including GD&T.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, or drawings.
- Able to travel up to 20% domestically when circumstances permit
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace Industry experience
- Military DoD (Department of Defense) experience
- 3D modeling software: CATIA V5, Solid Works, CREO or equivalent
- Understanding an MRP system-SAP or equivalent
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI)-Lean, Six Sigma or ACE/CORE
- Finite Element Analysis Software-(Abaqus, NASTRAN and/or PATRAN)
