Purpose

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will leverage their deep understanding of the Aerospace and Defense industry and established network to propel Lake Air Products' sales efforts. With their expertise, the BDM will quickly foster valuable business connections and pave the way for new partnerships. This proactive BDM will be driven to swiftly deliver a positive impact on our business.

Responsibilities
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Lake Air Products (LAP) capabilities and effectively communicate these to prospects to arrange sales meetings with key decision-makers (such as Project Managers, Engineers, and Sourcing Leaders) at targeted accounts
  • Collaborate with the CEO and VP of Sales to close deals and secure programs.
  • Identify and oversee participation in Aerospace and Defense (A&D) tradeshows to enhance networking opportunities.
  • Analyze potential business needs or opportunities for value creation within prospects to determine the advantages of integrating LAP
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of accounts to ensure alignment with LAP capabilities and strategic goals.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new business with the LAP Account Manager; serve as the main point of contact for the customer until launch, and then transition main communication to the Account Manager
  • Process and resolve program issues with the customer to uphold the LAP brand reputation.
  • Offer technical oversight and propose strategic solutions for new capabilities that could benefit the customer and LAP.


Qualifications
  • An extensive network of business contacts in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • 5-10 years of experience in a precision sheet metal environment, specializing in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing
  • A strong background in metals and sheet metal manufacturing techniques, with experience in handling both simple and complex parts
  • Proven ability to manage and cultivate relationships across departments effectively.
  • Adept at building relationships and committed to exceptional customer service.
  • Detail-oriented, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, and skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
