AZTEC is currently seeking resumes from qualified BIM Managers to support project teams through the application of BIM methodology and Integrated Digital Delivery for both vertical-architectural and horizontal-civil projects. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position.

Job Description

The BIM Manager will leverage strong knowledge of AEC industry standards, tools, and best practices to support and improve workflow collaboration and efficiencies throughout project delivery.

Primary Job Duties:
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to define a BIM Strategy, BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and workflows for utilizing or creating 3D digital-twin information for design, estimating, planning, scheduling, coordination and/or facilitates management in compliance with international standards such as ISO-19650
  • Advise the Project Manager to prepare and project Quality Plans in BIM related aspects
  • Prepare and Present the BIM Criteria to be incorporated in the Quality Plans to the Project Manager for comments and acceptance prior to publishing, and to the Client when stipulated in the contract
  • Support the Project Manager in distributing the Quality Plan and making it accessible to the project production team
  • Perform the coordination and audit of Information Models and Delivery Plans to ensure BIM deliverables are in line with AZTEC's BIM requirements, 'Client Information Requirements' and project's BIM Goals
  • Assist the production teams working with BIM methodology and provide support in the specific criteria, guidelines and standards of work defined in the contract that are applicable to the contract
  • Coordinate the BIM project with the BIM Managers from the other external organizations involved in the project.
  • Advise the other Departments and Divisions involved in implementing the Quality Plan related to modelling, at all times and across the board
  • Act as a support resource for core design technologies and digital delivery
  • Can be a resource and team member in all phases of the project
  • Collaborate with other TYPSA Group BIM staff both in North America and Internationally
  • Maintains current knowledge of design software, industry developments in integrated practice, and other applicable techniques
  • Devotes time to research new and upcoming technologies
  • Assemble and coordinate federated models to perform clash detection
  • Setup and management of Common Data Environment (CDE) in collaboration with the IT Department
  • Support and conduct complex modeling, data management, analysis, and/or optimization for architectural and engineering designs
  • Deliver assigned tasks, projects, and group initiatives in an efficient manner
  • Support efforts in the development, testing, and implementation of design tools and services
  • Support the development and implementation of interoperability workflows between various design applications/platforms
  • Assist in the creation and review learning materials
  • Lead and Chair BIM Meetings with the client and diverse teams comprised of both internal and external members
  • Participation in the development of Automation scripts using Revit API, Dynamo as well as Grasshopper for Rhino

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, information technology or a related discipline required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant BIM experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience in multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects (both vertical and horizontal) developed with BIM Methodology
  • Experience in BIM/3D Modeling in multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects, with a focus on Autodesk Software Suite
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Experience in management and use of Common Data Environments including but not limited to: Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM360 Design and Collaborate Suite and ProjectWise
  • Experience with a variety of BIM authoring and coordination software including but not limited to: Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Assemble, and PlanGrid
  • Experience with a variety of visualization software including but not limited to: Lumion, Unity, Unreal, Twinmotion and AutoCAD
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish in order to communicate effectively with North American teams and our BIM Services group in Madrid
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in Autodesk Revit API & Dynamo, as well as Grasshopper for Rhino
  • Experience with Bentley Open Buildings/Roads/Rail is a plus

Working Conditions and Environment:

This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally, uses advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances

Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment. Working knowledge of dealing with a diverse population while using tact, diplomacy, and respect.
