Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Risk Analyst to join our team for a significant tunnel project in the New York / New Jersey area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing and mitigating risks for a transformative tunnel project. Join our team and contribute to delivering a project that sets new standards in infrastructure resilience and success. This role is crucial in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle, from planning through to construction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, particularly in infrastructure projects involving FTA (Federal Transit Administration) funding. Strong communication skills and proficiency in data analytics tools are essential for this role.

Role accountabilities:
  • Develop and maintain the project's risk management framework, including risk registers, risk assessment methodologies, and mitigation strategies.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with the tunnel project, considering all phases from planning, design, procurement, construction, to operation.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analyses, using appropriate tools and techniques to assess risk impacts and probabilities.
  • Prepare risk assessment reports, heat maps, and other visual representations to communicate risk profiles effectively to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate risk management into project planning and decision-making processes.
  • Monitor and update risk registers regularly, tracking the status of identified risks and implementing mitigation measures as necessary.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to project management on risk mitigation strategies and contingency planning.
  • Support the project in complying with FTA funding requirements related to risk management and reporting.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to perform trend analysis, identify risk patterns, and predict potential future risks.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and meetings with project teams to enhance risk awareness and proactive risk management culture.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with risk management tools and software for data analytics and visualization.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex risk information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMI-RMP, ARM) in Risk Management or related field.
  • Previous experience with FTA-funded projects and familiarity with federal regulations related to risk management.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and practices in construction and infrastructure projects.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $135,000 - $184,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
