Position Description
The Senior Specialist, Experiential Marketing & Special Events is responsible for creating and implementing a strategic events and experiential marketing strategy as well as supporting special initiatives that align with WWF-Canada's objectives. This role plays a crucial part in creating world-class experiences that highlight and promote the organization's strategic plan, and help supporters deepen their support for the organization. Additionally, the individual will work collaboratively with internal staff to enhance the WWF-Canada brand and expand its supporter base.

Position Description
The Senior Specialist, Experiential Marketing & Special Events is responsible for creating and implementing a strategic events and experiential marketing strategy as well as supporting special initiatives that align with WWF-Canada's objectives. This role plays a crucial part in creating world-class experiences that highlight and promote the organization's strategic plan, and help supporters deepen their support for the organization. Additionally, the individual will work collaboratively with internal staff to enhance the WWF-Canada brand and expand its supporter base.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive experiential marketing strategy that aligns with organizational and brand objectives.
- Plan and oversee a wide range of national and local in-person and virtual experiential events, including supporter appreciation events, corporate partnership events, and public-facing conservation and fundraising events.
- Collaborate with various teams to develop strategies for engaging supporters and fostering deeper connections with the organization. This includes working with internal teams, external agencies, and key stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of experiential marketing events.
- Work with internal teams on the user experience strategy for the annual WWF Climb for Nature events across Canada, supporting the planning and execution of a continued nationwide rollout of the event.
- Alongside the Fundraising team, successfully achieve event goals and manage vendor relationships for successful event delivery.
- Develop a roster of external creative and technical agencies, vendors, and producers.
- Cultivate relationships with partners and sponsors to elevate the quality and impact of events, maximizing creative agility, and deliver varied events catered to different audiences.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge the success of events and experiential marketing programs.
- Proactively seek and disseminate best-in-class event practices, new technologies, and industry benchmarks to guarantee world-class event execution.
- Lead or collaborate with internal and external groups to plan special events, including the WWF-Canada immersive experience at Arcadia Earth.
- Supervise or lead event execution, partner management, and production on-site, and leverage data and feedback to analyze the effectiveness of each event, providing insights for continuous improvement and optimization of future activities.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing the ROI for each event.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure cost-effective solutions without compromising event quality.
- Oversee the development, usage, and inventory management of all Experiential Marketing assets across suppliers and warehouse facilities.
- Determine event schedules and explore opportunities to leverage events for multiple purposes, maximizing their impact and reach.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of professional experience in events management, experiential marketing, brand marketing, hospitality management, or similar.
- Related education in events management, marketing, hospitality, or similar an asset, OR additional related work experience.
- Experience in multi-channel marketing, encompassing strategy development and execution of complex projects in corporate, agency, and/or not-for-profit contexts.
- Sound understanding of digital platforms to maximize event efficiency - including live streaming, registration platforms, and social media.
- Proficiency in project management while collaborating with multiple partners, prioritizing high-impact activities, and ensuring the continuous progression of multi-level projects.
- Experience working in an Agile environment, and/or familiar with project management tools.
- Demonstrated client service, business development, and overall program management experience (concept, implementation, and execution with excellence).
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment with strong decision-making skills.
- Innovative thinking and robust problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of current best practices in experiential marketing, brand marketing, and media strategy.
- Passion for the cause: an understanding of and interest in WWF-Canada's conservation work.
- Experience in developing new business opportunities (event and experiential marketing related) from concept to business case to execution.
- Fluency in French, and an understanding of the Quebec marketplace is an asset.

Other Information
- Available to work occasional evenings and weekends is required to prepare, lead, and/or support events.
- Occasional national travel will be required to prepare, support, and/or events.
- A valid driver's license an asset.
