Loan Operations Assistant Manager
Banesco USA is seeking a Loan Operations Assistant Manager for our Loan Operations Business Unit.
Primary Job Duties
- Reports to VP, Loan Operations Officer and provides support in all areas of loan operations and loan servicing.
- Manages the loan operations and loan servicing departments; ensures proper management of those areas, including performance of employees and timely and proper completion of all loan operations and loan servicing functions.
- Ensures and enforces adherence to regulatory as well as bank and departmental policies and procedures.
- Establishes controls and oversees/monitors that all customer real estate and insurance payments are made and recorded and/or that measures to mitigate risk to the bank are followed, such as force-placement of insurance, delinquency reporting, etc.
- Provides supervision and assistance to ensure quality control on all loan ops and servicing functions, including new loan documentation, interest rates, amortization, payments, maturities, loan billing and escrow payments. Research and resolve matters in a timely manner.
- Ensures new loan booking and related entries are input in the Jack Henry system, as expected.
- Ensures that the monitoring of the insurances and real estate taxes via tickler report in the Core System are accurate.
- Ensures that customers are notified of expired insurance policies and delinquent real estate taxes as applicable and that, if necessary, force placement is made on a timely basis.
- Ensures contracts with CoreLogic and American Flood Research are maintained as applicable and generates and reviews American Flood tracking on a quarterly basis.
- Ensures collateral properties information entered and provided to CoreLogic for accurate tracking.
- Ensures escrow disbursements, non-accrual, charge off and recovery transactions are processed in a timely manner.
- Ensures weekly review of all tax, insurance and other tickler reports are made ensure compliance.
- Ensures annual Real Estate Escrow disbursements and payments of loans are processed in compliance with the due date.
- Ensures yearly Escrow Analysis is processed on all applicable loans when due.
- Ensures subpoenas, credit and legal files are reviewed and uploaded, as required.
- Ensures satisfaction of mortgages, partial release and UCC on paid-off loans are terminated within the applicable time by law.
- Ensures participated loans payments are posted correctly and the preparation of remittance details/ participation certificates for loan disbursements on sold loans are accurately provided.
- Responsible for compiling and reviewing various month ends reports prior to distribution.
- Responsible for various account reconciliations prior to month closing. Assists Accounting department with related inquiries, as needed.
- Reviews returned mail to ensure remediation, customers complaints and prepare error resolution report.
- Performs Quality Control checks on a regular and consistent basis.
- Responsible for periodic review of processes and recurring errors to recommend adjustments to procedure, as needed.
- Collaborate and provide requested information or documentation for external and internal audits.
- Serve as backup for the Loan Admin Supervisor. This includes, but not limited to, preparation of call report data, financial documentation post-closing ticklers and assisting with record retention procedures.
- Collaborated with other teams on various company and department-wide projects.
- Responsible for completing annual training program assigned.
- Performs other functions and/or duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Education: bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Ten (10) years in the loan operations department at a bank and at least five (5) of those years in a lead/supervisory management role.
- Advanced computer skills including strong knowledge of loan systems (Jack Henry, n-Cino, Encompass) as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of complex loan types (unit priced loans, participated and syndicated loans, etc.), amortization, advances, loan servicing.
- Experienced in creation of loan products.
- Responsible for establishing and enforcing controls that mitigate risk to the department and the loan portfolio.
- Ability to comprehend instructions, procedures and policies ensuring compliance with the Bank's policies and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Fully bilingual in both English and Spanish
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task, with strong organization, time-management and prioritizing skills.
- Customer service skills, ensuring satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
- Ability to work in a team environment, in order to ensure compliance with department procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations and operational policies.
- Problem solving and analytical skills in order to identify problems.
- Strong knowledge in loan documentation and financial documentation.
- Strong knowledge of loan documentation as well as credit and lending practices to exercise judgment on accuracy of credit approvals and/or provide recommendation for re-classifications.
